Description

Japanese drama co-written and directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi. Journalist Reiko Endo (Yasuko Matsuyuki) travels to Nagaoka, a city devastated by bombing during WWII and then again in 2004 by the Chuetsu earthquake. After the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the people of Nagaoka took in many people from the affected region, offering them food and shelter. Reiko hopes to learn more about these events and also to meet with her former boyfriend Kenichi (Masahiro Takashima), a high school teacher who is helping Hana (Minami Inomata), one of his students, to stage her play which tells the story of those who survived the bombing of the city during the war.
