Christopher Landon writes and directs this US horror sequel starring Jessica Rothe and Israel Broussard. After Tree Gelbman (Rothe), a young college student, is repeatedly murdered by a masked attacker on the night of her birthday only to wake up and relive the same day over and over again, she realises the only way to break the cycle is to find and kill her own murderer. Tree has now disposed of her killer and is enjoying her college life free from the ever-present threat of danger, but her harmonious bliss is soon disrupted when she discovers one of her friends, Ryan (Phi Vu), is now going through the exact same process. Using her learned experiences to help him, they get to work on finding out who the new masked killer might be, but things get out of hand when Tree ends up back in her own loop and now even more people are being targeted.
