Film noir directed by David Miller and starring Ginger Rogers and Stanley Baker. Johnny Victor (Rogers) is soon to marry the wealthy financier Louis (Baker) once his divorce has finalised but her future plans take a drastic turn after she meets an old friend, Emile (Herbert Lom), to whom she offers a loan so that he can afford to pay his wife's medical bills. It later transpires that the money was borrowed to repay a debt to her future husband, Louis, who is secretly the leader of a criminal gang. However, while overhearing a conversation, Johnny misinterprets that Louis is being dishonest about his divorce, leading to a chain of events which may lead to disastrous consequences.
