Futuristic Japanese animated feature. In a technologically-advanced society in the near future, where robots can be programmed to imitate complete human beings, a young girl's grief over her recently deceased boyfriend leads a scientist to devise a plan to get her enjoying life again. Ever since Kurimi (Yôko Hikasa)'s boyfriend passed away in a tragic plane accident, she has been in mourning and living a reclusive life. This all changes when her boyfriend's place is taken by a robot named Hal (Yoshimasa Hosoya) and Kurimi is forced to disregard her reservations and yield to the company of the robot.
