Description

Mitchell Leisen directs this drama starring Charles Boyer and Olivia de Havilland. Romanian gigolo Georges Iscovescu (Boyer) wishes to travel to America in order to sell his life story to a film studio. When he is stopped at the Mexican border however, he is placed in a holding hotel where he must wait to be given a quota number. Six months after arriving at the border he bumps into his former friend Anita Dixon (Paulette Goddard) who tells Georges how she gained entry to the US by marrying an American. With a plan in place, Georges sets out to find himself a wife.
