Description

Anouk Aimée and Gary Lockwood star in this romantic drama from film-maker Jacques Demy. George Matthews (Lockwood) is stuck in a rut, jobless and in an unhappy relationship. On the day that he receives his conscription orders, he sees a beautiful woman and develops immediate feelings towards her. Seeing her walk into a model shop where customers can pay to take photographs of the women, George follows her in and uses his last few dollars to pay for a session. As the pair of lost souls share stories of their troubles, they find meaning in their lives and a reason to carry on.
