Biographical drama directed by Steven Sawalich about the life of Richard Pimentel (Ron Livingston). A gifted public speaker, Pimentel joins the military where he loses the majority of his hearing while fighting in the Vietnam War. Returning to America and attending university, he meets Art Honeyman (Michael Sheen), a writer with cerebral palsy, and witnesses the constant discrimination that he endures. Determined to help veterans and people with disabilities find work, Pimentel becomes a disability advocate and champions the Americans with Disabilities Act, which is signed into law in July 1990. Melissa George also stars.
