Set in 1953, this comedy drama follows Ann Deveraux (Renee Zellweger) and her sons Robbie (Mark Rendall) and George (Logan Lerman) on a road trip with a difference. When Ann discovers her husband, Dan (Kevin Bacon), is having an affair, she buys a blue Cadillac and journeys with her sons from the East to the West coast of America. On their stops along the way, Ann searches for a potential replacement for the philandering Dan, hoping to find financial security and a father figure for Robbie and George. The results, however, are often catastrophic, leading Ann to make some surprising discoveries about herself.
