Joe Johnston directs this claustrophobic thriller. Tom Miller (Max Minghella), an ambitious paralegal working at the Rosen, Byres and Emmerich law firm, is fired from his job when he stumbles upon some evidence which could be very harmful to one of his clients. As he gets ready to leave the building for the last time, he notices a suspicious suitcase switch between two mystery men before one of them proceeds to the 34th floor. Tom decides to follow him and, before realising he is now stuck on the same floor level, discovers that the mystery man is a hired killer. But who is the killer working for?
