Edward Dmytryk directs this British crime thriller based on the play 'A Man About a Dog' by Alec Coppel. Clive Riordan (Robert Newton) an obsessive doctor, resolves to kill a young man when he learns he is having an affair with his wife, Storm (Sally Gray). Clive manages to lure Storm's lover, Bill (Phil Brown) into his cellar before chaining him up as he makes his meticulous preparations for the murder. When Bill is reported missing, however, Superintendent Finsbury (Naunton Wayne) is hot on the case. The cast also includes Ronald Adam, Olga Lindo and James Harcourt.
