Double bill of horrors produced by Val Lewton. In 'Ghost Ship' (1943), marine officer Tom Merriam (Russell Wade) is enlisted in the crew of the Altair. On board, Merriam begins to notice that Captain Stone (Richard Dix) makes some strange and sometimes severe decisions that threaten the lives of other crewmembers. After someone tragically dies at the hands of Stone, Merriam attempts to prove that Stone is dangerous and out of control, but he proves difficult to overpower. In 'Bedlam' (1946), the infamous 18th-century sanatorium, Bedlam, is ruled over by sadistic governor James Sims (Boris Karloff). When Nell (Anna Lee), a young actress, campaigns for the institution to be reformed, Sims silences her by having her committed. Once inside, however, Nell leads her fellow inmates in a revolt against the evil governor.
