When Mexican bandit Juan Miranda (Steiger) encounters John Mallory (Coburn), an Irish revolutionary with an obsession for dynamite, he bribes the explosives expert into assisting him with a bank robbery. However, the bank is being used as a political prison by the army and their actions lead to the accidental release of Mexican revolutionaries.
