Danny Glover and Angela Bassett star in this drama based on the play by Athol Fugard. Boesman (Glover) and Lena (Bassett) are a bickering homeless couple, surviving as best they can in Apartheid-era South Africa. When they arrive at a small shelter on the mudflats outside Capetown, they are joined by an old Xhosa tribesman. Boesman's first instinct is to abuse the visitor but Lena feels compelled to protect him. As their argument worsens, the tension between them grows dangerously.
