Victor Erice directs this Spanish-Argentine drama starring Manolo Solo, José Coronado and Ana Torrent. During filming for an upcoming movie, actor Julio Arenas (Coronado) goes missing near the coast and is never found. In 2012, two decades later, Julio's friend and the director of the abandoned film project Miguel Garay (Solo) is approached as part of a televised investigation into his disappearance. To help uncover what might have moved him to leave everything and everyone behind, Miguel explores his friend's life with the help of Julio's daughter, Ana (Torrent) and lover Lola (Soledad Villamil).
