Ashley Judd stars in this drama about a headstrong young woman's search for meaning and self-worth in her life. Lucy Fowler (Judd) is a contractor for a construction firm run by Owen Allen (Stacy Keach). In between caring for her reclusive alcoholic father (Scott Wilson) and spending time with her family - grandmothers Doll (Candyce Hinkle) and Nana (Diane Ladd) and uncle Tim (Tim Blake Nelson) - Lucy spends her weekends getting drunk in the local bar and sleeping with anonymous men.
