Hungarian WWII drama directed by Attila Szász. Irén Walther (Marina Gera) and most of the women from her village are deported by the Soviet Union and placed in work camps. Despite the demanding conditions Irén clings to the hope that she will return to Hungary and be with her family again. However, as time passes and she bears witness to the hostile and brutal treatment from the guards her hope dwindles until she is befriended by male prisoner Rajmund (Sándor Csányi), who tries to guide her on how to cope under such conditions and in the most unlikely of settings a romance blossoms between the pair.
