Description

Herbert Wilcox directs this romantic WWII drama in which an English woman falls for an American Air Force sergeant. Though she is in love with army major David Bruce (Rex Harrison), Lady Patricia Fairfax (Anna Neagle) soon finds herself falling for the charms of John Patterson (Dean Jagger) when he arrives at London's Grosvenor Square to spend some well-earned leave. After learning of Patricia and David's long expectation of marriage, John decides to do the decent thing and return to combat. His decision, however, soon brings events to a tragic conclusion for all concerned.
