Arletty has arrived in the quiet seaside town of Point Dume to investigate her father's bizarre new behaviour, only to find he has abandoned his home which is filled with eerie paintings. She finds her father's diary with a note addressed to her, imploring her not to search for him and that a darkness is taking over the town. Meanwhile, Thom (Greer), also a new visitor to the town, has learned about the terrifying phenomena which will soon terrorise Point Dume once again.
