Description

Matt Hookings writes and stars in this biopic about the life of Jem Belcher. Jem (Hookings) grew up watching his grandfather Jack Slack (Russell Crowe) fight and, while his mother Mary (Jodhi May) doesn't want him to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, it's all he wants to do. Taken on by trainer Bill Warr (Ray Winstone), Jem fights well and is soon facing the champion of England. However, he struggles with the lifestyle of a fighter, just as his grandfather did, and is soon spending his time drinking and gambling. Marton Csokas and Julian Glover also star.
