Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Benoît Magimel star in this French historical drama co-written and directed by Stéphanie Di Giusto. In 1870s France, Rosalie (Tereszkiewicz) has a secret: her body is covered in hair and she shaves her face to prevent being rejected by society. Cafe owner Abel (Magimel) is in debt and marries Rosalie for her dowry without knowing her secret. As Rosalie overcomes her embarrassment and begins to embrace her appearance to improve their financial situation, Abel must confront his shame and wariness if they are to grow closer. However, not everyone in their small community is accepting of Rosalie and Barcelin (Benjamin Biolay), to whom Abel is indebted, is swift to act upon his disapproval.
