Description

1950s version of the GL Du Maurier tale about a sinister and crafty hypnotist, Svengali (Donald Wolfit), who places a young woman under his command. The hypnotist preys on Trilby (Hildegard Neff) who he transforms into an internationally successful concert performer, leaving her old life and the man who loves her, Billy (Terence Morgan), behind. Billy, however, refuses to allow Svengali to have his way and goes to try and rescue his beloved from the mesmerist's evil clutches.
