Description

Vanessa Redgrave and Keith Carradine star in this drama directed by Simon Callow and set in 1930s Georgia. Strong and eccentric Miss Amelia Evans (Redgrave) runs a small store, brews moonshine and lives alone. When her cousin Lymon (Cork Hubbert) arrives in town, he bridges the distance between her and the locals and convinces her to open a cafe, which proves successful. However, when her estranged husband Marvin Macy (Carradine) is released from prison and returns to town, their ongoing feud plays out in full view of the townsfolk and soon escalates to violence.
