Ben Foster stars as Herschel 'Harry' Haft in this biographical drama directed by Barry Levinson. In 1942, Haft, a Polish Jew, is sent to Jaworzno, a concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. There, an SS officer trains him to box and he is forced to compete against his fellow Jews for the entertainment of his captors. Losing means death and winning means survival, but though Haft endures, he cannot escape his feelings of guilt and shame after the war. Continuining to box after emigrating to America, he hopes that his growing fame will enable the woman he loved before the war to find him, if she also survived. The cast also includes Billy Magnussen, Vicky Krieps, Peter Sarsgaard and Danny DeVito.
