Harald Reinl directs this horror based on the novel 'The Pit and the Pendulum' by Edgar Allan Poe. Baroness Lilian von Brabant (Karin Dor), accompanied by her lawyer, Roger Mont Elise (Lex Barker), is invited to attend Blood Castle, where she will inherit a large fortune. However, all is not as it seems, as waiting for them at the castle is the resurrected Count Regula (Christopher Lee), who was executed 35 years ago for murdering twelve virgin women in a plot to obtain immortality.
