Bill Morrison directs this documentary which follows the discovery by an Icelandic fishing boat of four reels of 35mm film previously lost in the Atlantic Ocean. The contents prove to be part of 'Derevenskiy Detektiv' (1969), a popular Soviet comedy which stars Mikhail Zharov as a small-town police officer tasked with reuniting a musician with his stolen accordion. Morrison uses the process of restoring the film reels as a starting point to explore Zharov's long career.
