George MacKay stars as Australian outlaw Ned Kelly in this adaptation of the Peter Carey novel. Following the death of his father, young Ned (Orlando Schwerdt) is brought up by his mother, Ellen Kelly (Essie Davis), and an escaped convict by the name of Harry Power (Russell Crowe). Learning the ways of the outlaw, Ned grows up with frequent altercations with the local police force. When he forms a gang and continues to be involved in skirmishes with the law Ned's fame and notoriety grow, and the authorities become more determined than ever to capture Ned and his acquaintances. The cast also features Charlie Hunnam and Nicholas Hoult.
